    Custom Software Development

Software shaped around your business, not the other way around

    What you get

    Discovery first

We map the problem, the people and the process before writing code. Most wasted budget is spent building the wrong thing well.

    Working software early

Small, tested increments you can actually use and judge — not a six-month silence followed by a demo.

    Web, desktop & mobile

One team across the stack — server, browser, desktop and mobile — so the parts fit together properly.

    Integration with what you run

Connect to your ERP, accounting, payment or messaging systems instead of leaving another island of data.

    Data you can trust

Considered database design, real migrations and reporting built in — not bolted on after the first audit.

    Lean by principle

Few dependencies, low resource footprint, no framework lock-in. Cheaper to run and far cheaper to maintain.

    Tested and observable

Automated tests and monitoring from the start, so problems surface in a pipeline rather than in front of a customer.

    Deployed and running

We do not hand over a zip file. It ships to your cloud or ours, with pipelines, backups and rollback in place.

    You own everything

Code, data, documentation and pipeline are yours from day one. No hostage situation, no licence trap.

    Support after launch

Warranty on delivered work, then an optional support arrangement as the system grows with the business.

When custom is the right answer

Custom software is not automatically the right choice. Buying a proven product is usually cheaper and faster, and we will tell you when that is the case — sometimes the honest answer is one of our own products, or a tool we do not sell at all.

Custom earns its cost in specific situations:

    • The process that makes you money is the one no package supports properly.
    • You are paying three subscriptions and a person to move data between them.
    • Licence costs rise with headcount for software you have outgrown.
    • The workaround spreadsheet has quietly become the real system.
    • You need to integrate systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

    How we work

    1. Discovery — we sit with the people who do the work and map the process as it actually runs, not as the manual describes it. You get a written understanding of scope, risks and cost before committing to a build.
    2. Shape — we agree what the first useful version contains. Usually less than the initial wish list, and it reaches you far sooner.
    3. Build in increments — short cycles, each ending in something running that you can try. Direction is corrected while correcting is still cheap.
    4. Harden — automated tests, monitoring, backups, and a deployment that can be rolled back.
    5. Hand over — documentation, training and a walkthrough of the code and pipeline with whoever will look after it.
    6. Support — warranty on what we delivered, and an ongoing arrangement if you want one.

    How we build

We are deliberately conservative about technology, because someone has to run this after we leave.

    • Lean stack. Every dependency has to earn its place. Fewer moving parts means fewer things to patch, fewer surprises on upgrade and a smaller server bill.
    • Open source only. No commercial runtime licences, so your costs do not scale with someone else's pricing decisions.
    • No framework lock-in. We avoid abstractions that make leaving impossible — including leaving us.
    • Explicit over clever. Code that a new developer can read in a year is worth more than code that is impressive today.
    • Proper database design. Schema changes are versioned migrations, and reporting is designed in rather than bolted on.
    • Automated everything. Build, test and deployment run without a person remembering the steps.

    Engagement & pricing

Discovery is a short, fixed-price engagement and a sensible first step. You leave with a written scope, an architecture outline, a realistic cost range and a recommendation — even where that recommendation is not to build.

Build is then quoted against that scope, delivered in increments, with a fixed price per phase so the budget stays visible.

Support after launch is optional: warranty is included, and a monthly arrangement is available for changes and maintenance as the business grows.

Message us on WhatsApp to talk it through — we will give you a straight answer about whether building is worth it.

    Common questions

How much does custom software cost? It depends entirely on scope, which is why discovery comes first and is priced separately. Anyone quoting a build before understanding the process is guessing.

How long does it take? A focused first version is typically weeks rather than months, because we ship the smallest genuinely useful thing first and grow it from there.

Who owns the code? You do — code, data, documentation and pipeline, from day one.

What if we want to change direction mid-build? Expected. Working in short increments exists precisely so that changing your mind is cheap rather than catastrophic.

Can you work with our existing system or team? Yes. We take over, extend and integrate with existing systems, and we are comfortable working alongside in-house developers.

What happens if we stop working with you? You keep everything and it keeps running. That is the point of avoiding lock-in.
